Special Containers
A frame container is a type of container without a top and side walls; when the end walls are folded down, it is also called a flat rack. The frame container has a thicker bottom plate and lacks a top and side walls, making it suitable for loading and unloading larger and heavier cargo from the top and sides. The width and height of the cargo can exceed the container’s dimensions; generally, cargo widths within 4.5 meters and heights within 4 meters are acceptable.
Open-top containers can be loaded and unloaded from the top using a crane. They are containers with a removable top, consisting of a bottom surface and a surrounding metal frame.
